From what I've heard if you know your stuff the Right to bear arms means you can carry a unconcealed fire arm on your hip as long as it not loaded and you can carry your amo on the other hip in a holster as well no permit needed as long as its a legal registered fire arm the cops can harass you and hold up your time a little bit but nothing more, this is just what I've heard though maybe Sean can chime in he's a gun person.

I agree. I do not open carry in California unless I am in an extremely remote area hunting or something. I fully agree with the right to do so but it creates a lot of tension for many people and I would rather avoid the LE attention anyway.

I agree John, It is Legal to open carry here in California, as long as the firearm is NOT loaded. Alot of people do because "they can". This does cause a lot of attention as most people are unfamiliar with the law. I have grown up around firearms and always owned at least a couple at a time. Here is a couple links to check out regarding "open Carry" in california and Arizona.

I think my buddy Zack and I are planning on camping a couple nights. I'm going with literally no money (I'm not sure how I'm even gonna be eating yet) so I'm just bringin' a sleeping bag and crashing on anyone's floor that'll allow it or sleeping in the car. It's all the same to me. I'll be up late and waking up early every day anyways.

Well Mike, both scorpions AND snakes are great sources of protein. If you skin a snake whole and urinate in it, you have an emergency bota bag! ....See? All covered!

Sounds like you guys are going to have a killer time. I have to miss it. I'll be planning and organizing the SoCal CRIS meeting happening the following weekend.

I KNOW you guys are going to take a ridiculous amount of photos, right? DON'T FORGET THE GROUP SHOTS!!!

Oh, and I changed the thread title, so it is easier to find for people who haven't heard about the trip, yet.

Take lots of people photos, too, not just the critters! I wanna see you guys in action.

I also posted a reminder about the meeting on the homepage.

Thanks to those of you who planned this for our group. You guys are going to have fun.

LOL, I'll put $10 on us forgetting to take a group shot the entire time we're there.
